Is Your Fiance' a Groomzilla?

You are going to marry the man of your dreams in just a few short months and you are floating on cloud 9. Almost everything has been planned and you are totally prepared if anything goes wrong. Not even the weather can put a damper on your spirits. However, your fiance' on the other hand is driving you insane! He seems to be worried about every little detail involved in the wedding including the type of font that will be used on the wedding programs.  You are completely flabbergasted by his behavior and not really sure how to handle him being so anal. (Yea, I said it.) Well, if this is you, fret not, you are certainly not the only one. Marie Claire actually wrote an article about this situation last year about the men who are becoming "little girls". Is your fiance' a groomzilla? How would you handle things if your fiance' became a groomzilla?

Bridal: Summer Bridal Shower

So remember this post about bridal showers? Well, I just had mine on Sunday and it was GREAT! After having my own shower, I'm looking at them with a different perspective now. My shower was so much fun and I had all my close family and friends there that just made it awesome! Here are a few pics from that day!

My shower was supposed to be a surprise, but it's very hard to surprise me...I tend to catch on to things quick! My mom planned the whole thing and for the bridesmaids she got them doll jewelry stands that best matched their bridesmaid dresses. She also wrote on the invitations for the gifts to be wrapped in clear which made the process of announcing the gifts run smoothly.

Has your man let himself go lately? Does he eat everything your mother puts in front of his face? Well, if he's anything like my fiance' then he eats just about everything! Sometimes, men get lucky and don't gain anything, but other times all that eating can catch up to him and it will show! Not to worry ladies, just tell your man about the Body Beast Workout. It's a great way to tone muscles and get in shape without expensive equipment or artificial enhancers. This is also good for you ladies who like to have some muscle definition to their bodies. So to help you along in your journey get the P90X App for your iphone. It will help you stay focused and in control of your goals. This is a great way to keep yourself motivated and to push yourself even further.

Umm, Seriously? But who doesn't want to lose a few pounds? Bridal: Lazy Days of Summer

Wow! Anybody out there? I know, I know, it's been like 3,489,790 years since I've posted something. Not to worry, though, I am alive and well.  There has been so much going on with the wedding planning, finding a place to live, and life.  Thank GOD everything seems to be going well.  To be quite honest, I have also been a little lazy with keeping this blog updated. Now that summer has just started, it is time to STOP being lazy and what better way to do that then to get your booty into tip top shape! Plus, it's healthy for you and if you're like me with a wedding coming up, you want to look your absolute best! So, in order to get things moving again, I will be posting some helpful information to stay in shape and stay healthy for your upcoming wedding and for the rest of your life. Cara over at Beach Body has shared with me some great programs that will really make you sweat! (as if this heat wave hasn't already made you lose a few pounds, lol) Stay tuned for some exciting news!

Bridal: Just When you Think You've Seen it All...

Ok, so although I've done a previous post about invitations doesn't mean that there isn't more out there. And once you check this out , you will either love it or hate it. Personally I thought it was adorable, and if you have the talent and the gift to create something as unique as this, then I say GOD bless you! There are others out there like it, but the one above is a cute one. Have you ever received an outrageous wedding invitation? What did you think?

Bridal: Can You Say Stressed Out?

I would like to take this opportunity to give a little advice for brides to be.  DO ALL THE PLANNING BY YOURSELF! To be honest, I feel that if brides do the planning on their own, it will make things go a little more smoothly. Yes, I agree it is fun going along with your fiancee' or other relatives (i.e. Mom, future Mother-in-law), but the issue is that you want to please everyone and it's just not possible. Perhaps on your first visit to certain vendors it's a good idea to take everyone with you, but then for the rest of the visits and final decision making, go alone especially if you're going to be the one handing over the loot! If you know exactly what you want and you are careful about where you spend your money, then I say just go alone. In the end, whatever choices you make, I'm sure everyone will be happy with it because no one else was involved with the decision making. I realize that planning a wedding can be quite stressful at times, but you have to step away for a second and remember why you are getting married in the first place. (Even if it's your fiancee' that's causing you stress) Dont's sweat the small stuff because the only thing that matters is that you will be marrying your best friend! Has anyone ever had a stressful time planning their wedding?

Bridal: Diamond Dazzle What?!@#%

LOL! Ok, so by accident I stumbled across an add for this new thing that supposedly makes your diamond ring sparkle tremendously: Diamond Dazzle Stik. I don't know how well it works, but basically it looks like a tide to-go pen and you just rub on your diamond and poof! instant shine! Someone please tell me if they know about this product and if it really works or is it just another gimmick. The commercials are so ridiculous, in a funny way of course. Check out this video of a couple at a bar:

Bridal: Long and Short of it, dresses that is

Ok, I know it's been a while, but I'm back now and ready to talk about those wonderful bridesmaid dresses. You've chosen your bridesmaids and they've all accepted with great pleasure! That's great news! Now that you've got them all picked out, you have to pick a bridesmaid dress. This can be an easy task or a difficult one, depending on how you go about it. One thing to consider when choosing a dress for your girls is what season your wedding will be in. If you're going to be a winter bride then I strongly suggest that getting short bridesmaid dresses are a BIG No-No (for obvious reasons, duh!) Late Spring through late Summer are ideal for short dresses generally because the weather tends to be warmer. Another option is for your bridesmaids to get a dress that has an option to become short, like this one from Bari Jay. Tell me, do you prefer long or short bridesmaid dresses?

Bridal Shorts: Themed Wedding

I just love a good themed wedding! The more traditional ones are when all the little details some how are cohesive: invitations match the color scheme, the menu cards match the invitations, the flowers match the menu cards, and it all matches without being too matchy-matchy. Other wedding themes are a bit more obvious such as a disney wedding, or even a seashell wedding. Whatever tickles your fancy, I say just go with it, it's your day after all! I'm not sure if I would particularly do a themed wedding, but I guess if I had to, it would probably be a 1940's or 1950's themed wedding. I think the women, the hairstyles, and the fashion of those eras were just so timeless and classic. Even if you are not big on themes, you could always be very subtle with some of the details, such as makeup style, shoes, or even a nice finger wave for your hair without having to sacrifice the modern look of a wedding. the trick is to not have your wedding look like a halloween party, unless of course, that is your theme. Bridal: Bridal Showers-yay or nay?

I'm probably going to piss off a lot of my relatives and friends for saying this, but I really hate bridal showers. The thing is, whenever I'm at a bridal shower, I ALWAYS get stuck with the hard labor work involved in the shower. You know what I'm talking about; unwrapping the gifts, passing them to the next person in the assembly line, and then getting the gift back and trying to organize it somewhere in a corner so it's easy to carry off and take home. I understand when one is a bridesmaid, part of their job is to help out with the bridal shower, but c'mon! (lol) It's not an easy job when you have on 5 inch heels and a dress. It's just not a good look to be cute one minute and then wiping sweat off your forehead after pushing around boxes that are bigger than you. So that's my gripe about bridal showers.

I know it's inevitable that I will have my own one day (my mother wouldn't have it any other way), but if i can help it, I would like to try a different approach. And one more thing, I don't really care to sit there and watch the bride-to-be open and show off all the gifts they get; I already know what you're getting! It's called the BRIDAL REGISTRY! On the upside, I do enjoy them because it's a good excuse to get together with friends and family, and I'm always up for a good time, but I could do without the hard labor.  Does anyone have any ideas for a non-traditional baby shower, that's still fun? Let me know some of your ideas.

Its summer time. With this recent heat wave I thought about being outside, hence the BBQ rehearsal dinner. For a BBQ, really anything goes.  The key is to wear something comfortable while being able to breath in your skin. Here are two different outfits I created that are appropriate for a BBQ that are comfortable without having to sacrifice style. What type of clothes do you wear to a BBQ?

Bridal: The Bachelorette Party!

So it's time to start thinking about the BIG night? The first thing to consider is everyone's budget. If the plan is to go off to an island, make sure everyone that's getting invited is able to afford it.  Really, the event depends on what the bride wants and what is actually feasible. Whatever the plan is, check out Bridesmaid Aid for some tips on how to plan the bachelorette party and what to expect that night.  If you plan on having some props, e-bachelorette can supply you and your guests with some interesting (i.e. naughty) accessories to party the night away.
